Year: 2012   Event Title: Intermediate/Advanced Sculpture: Stone Carving

Semester Dates:    Jan 17 - May 6         Class meets on Thursdays from 9:30am - 12:30pm

This class introduces students to the process of carving stone with chisels, grinders, and rasps. Working from their own maquettes, each student will learn the various steps needed to translate their thoughts from mere ideas into beautiful sculpture carved in limestone or alabaster. Class discussions will cover carving techniques, finishing, tool use and safetyŚ including electric and pneumatic tools.
